What are skin boosters and how do they work?
Skin boosters is one of the most popular treatments we offer at Rejuvenate, they revitalise the skin and combat hydration. Here we look at that they are and what they do, as well as the different types on offer.
What are they?
In a nutshell, skin boosters provide a deep level of hydration to the skin. They are a non-invasive treatment with minimal risks. We use a strong medical grade numbing cream to make the treatment as comfortable as possible for you. These treatments are suitable for any age. Hyaluronic Acid is injected into the skin which leaves a thin layer just below the surface, this provides deep hydrated and plumps the skin by stimulating the collagen and elastin fibres which in turn improves the texture of the skin and can slow down the ageing process. The elasticity of the skin improves along with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as does acne scarring, and lines caused by smoking.
How do skin boosters work?
Micro-injections of non-crosslinked Hyaluronic Acid (HA) and amino acids stimulate the body’s own production of collagen and elastin fibres.
Profhilo is one skin booster we offer. This is 5 small injections either side of the face at specific points and is amazing for skin hydration. SuneKos is the other hugely popular skin booster we offer. SuneKos is great for targeting specific areas such as the eye area or ‘smokers lines’ around the mouth. Our intense course is great for plumping the skin.
Because Hyaluronic Acid attracts water, the skin becomes super moisturised and therefore brighter. There is also a bio-remodelling effect, meaning your skin improves from the inside out and the results get even better over time. Skin boosters are very safe, and they do not change the shape of your face in any way, making the results very discreet.
What we do at Rejuvenate Aesthetics
At Rejuvenate we use 2 of the major premium brands of skin boosters; SuneKos and Profhilo. SuneKos is an injectable treatment with a patented hyaluronic acid and amino acid formula which comes in 2 densities. SuneKos 200 in a low molecular weight formula that is great at targeting fine lines and wrinkles, SuneKos 1200 is a medium molecular weight formula which is effective in treating deeper lines and sagging skin. Profhilo is an injectable skin remodelling treatment that also contains Hyaluronic Acid. This treatment has very little down time and is great for boosting skin elasticity and for overall skin hydration.
How long does this treatment last?
A course is recommended initially. The complete improvement can take about a month to have effect and you should be able to notice these results for up to 9 months. After the initial course is complete, it is recommended to have one top up treatment every 6 months.
